Verification and Validation (V&V) are procedures used to check that a [product, service, or system] = (PSS) meets the requirements/specifications to fulfill its intended purpose.
V&V are sometimes done by a independent third party to insure accuracy & keep out bias.
“Validation” is the assurance that the PSS meets the needs of the customer or stakeholder. Whether it is acceptable (they are pleased, or displeased with the product; valid or not).
“Verification” is the evaluation of whether or not a PSS complies with the Regulation, Requirement, Specification, or imposed conditions.
Validation means to meet the needs of the customer.
Verification means to meet the requirements imposed by the customer.
Validation: “Are you building the right thing?”
